Responsibilities

Our Information Technology (IT) department is seeking a passionate individual to join our high-performing team as a Workday Product Analyst. Working on the Youth Villages’ IT team means collaborating with purpose-driven people on high-impact projects and products, making a direct impact on the youth and families who need us the most. 

 

 

Position Summary

The Workday Product Analyst, reporting to the Director of Product and Innovation (Director) as part of the IT team, will work closely with the Workday, Human Resources (HR), Finance, and Leadership teams to support the technical management of the organization’s Workday system. Alongside the organization’s Workday team, this position will utilize user-centered design and robust product/project management in all development and support activities, providing value to internal users and stakeholders while meeting organizational requirements. They will also work on special projects as requested by the Director, CIO, and other members of the leadership team, as needed.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The person in this role will work closely with the Director, senior leadership, and departments to:

  • Support transition from current HR systems to Workday
  • Partner with HR to understand and document current and future state business processes
  • Understand business needs and translate needs into requirements, updating them as needed
  • Provide technical support to users via the organization’s help desk tracking system
  • Handle basic administrative functions including user account maintenance, reports, dashboards, workflows, and other routine tasks
  • Support HR team members with administrative support for all current HR systems including iCIMS, Silk Road, UKG, and others as assigned, until fully transitioned to Workday
  • Support the integration of systems and coordinate activities related to the flow of data between systems
  • As part of the Workday team, support and implement the product roadmap for product development in both the short and long term
  • In partnership with HR, conduct discovery to gather business requirements for projects, documenting and organizing them into features, stories, and tasks
  • Ensure solutions follow Workday best practices as well as meet business needs
  • Support production of functional, technical, and system documentation by external vendor(s) or produce own if not completed by vendor
  • Complete regular internal system audits and prepare for upgrades
  • Act as a technical lead for all HR technology projects
  • As part of Workday team, facilitate testing of new functionality and support rollouts
  • Regularly report analytics on platform utilization and functionality
  • Monitor and evaluate new technologies and features, informing the company on their potential application to the product

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business, Engineering, or related field or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of experience working in IT or closely with IT
  • 3+ years of product analyst or similar experience, preferably at a non-profit, in lieu of degree is acceptable
  • Experience working in HR or working closely with HR processes required
  • Understanding of or experience with Workday, including best practices and functionality, required
  • Understand of or experience with (but not limited to) UKG, iCIMS, Silk Road, and Kronos, preferred
  • Experience with non-profits strongly preferred

 

Other Competencies:

  • Strong understanding of Workday best practices and functionality, particularly HCM and HR-related modules
  • Ability to critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs
  • Proven ability to design and implement new processes and facilitate user adoption
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines, handle and prioritize simultaneous requests, and manage laterally, upwards, and external vendors
  • Demonstrated understanding of data and data management practices, specifically ability to work with data users to ensure data collection and management adhere to best practices
  • Ability to assess the impact of new requirements on platform(s), including but not limited to iCIMS, Silk Road, UKG and Workday, and all upstream and downstream applications, systems, and processes
  • Excellent skills and experience in product and project management
  • Ability to communicate across all levels of the organization and work with diverse project team
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to regularly learn and adopt new technology
  • Ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority
  • Strong self-awareness and adaptability when working with multi-department teams
