Responsibilities

Experience the kind of internship that will change lives... the lives of troubled youth, their families, and your own. Youth Villages' commitment to helping troubled children and their families find success spans more than 30 years and includes a comprehensive array of programs and services including:

  • Home-Based Counseling (Intercept)
  • Treatment Foster Care
  • LifeSet Transitional Living Services
  • Crisis Services

Intern placement with a specific program within each office is determined during the interview process and depends on the current availability, the student's experience and education level, and the academic requirements of the program.

  • At the Master's level, graduate students will have the opportunity to:
  • Shadow counselors
  • Assist with clinical assessments and documentation
  • Learn clinical documentation and electronic medical records systems
  • Carry a reduced caseload, implementing family, individual or group therapy
  • Participate in treatment team and consultation meetings as well as receive individual supervision.

 

Our programs use treatment models that have been proven effective including:

  • Multisystemic Therapy
  • Multidimensional Foster Care
  • Re-ED
  • Family Treatment Model

 

Our approach has proven successful nationwide. Today, more than 4,500 counselors, teachers, and skilled support staff provide Youth Villages' services throughout 27 states, serving 43,000 kids annually. Qualifications

Requirements:
Must be pursuing a Master's degree in the Social Service field.
