Responsibilities

Leadership Development Advisor

 

At Youth Villages we strive to help children and families live successfully, and strong leaders are the key to our success.  As a rapidly growing nonprofit organization, Youth Villages promotes primarily from within thus creating a need to train and develop our current workforce.

 

In this role, the Leadership Development Advisor will have the opportunity to be a part of a team playing a vital role in enabling the future success of Youth Villages. You will join the Leadership Development Manager in assessing training needs and creating a coaching culture as well as identifying creative ways to expand and support leadership initiatives.

 

 

 

Position Description:

  • Deliver engaging and impactful leadership development workshops.
  • Collaborate with LD manager and cross-functional teams to assess leadership development opportunities and create targeted solutions to drive leadership excellence.
  • Support LD department initiatives and special projects.
  • Assist in the development of training materials, resources, and tools to achieve performance improvement.
  • Assist in monitoring and assessing results of training programs and initiatives.
  • Provide performance coaching and other duties as assigned.
  • Perform administrative functions when needed such as setting up workshops, administering pre- and post-work and session follow-ups as needed.
  • Position requires 40% travel and some schedule flexibility.

 

Qualifications

Experience & Skill Requirements:

 

We are looking for an individual that can bring the following skillset and experience to the position:

 

  • Training and development experience required. This should include 3-5 years of instructor-led adult classroom training for groups of 15+ people.
  • 3+ years supervisor/management experience preferred.
  • Leadership certifications such as Franklin Covey, DDI.
  • Strong understanding of leadership theories, models, and best practices.
  • Ability to design and deliver engaging and interactive leadership training.
  • Excellent written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Be able to prioritize workload, work well under tight deadlines, and apply patience and common courtesy to all situations.
  • Ability to work effectively in both a collaborative, team-oriented environment and individual contribution (self-starter).
  • Strong computer skills and ability to learn new technology.

 

 

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Preferred degree in HR, Leadership Development or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
