Responsibilities

Position Overview

 

This is a part-time & temporary position.

 

We’re seeking a proactive, hands-on team member to provide part-time support for our fundraising and volunteer initiatives. This role is primarily in-person and focused on helping prepare for and execute events, coordinating volunteers and assisting with projects that drive Youth Villages New England fundraising efforts. Limited administrative work may be done in a hybrid format, but most responsibilities require being on-site and actively supporting the team.

This role is ideal for someone eager to deepen their understanding of nonprofit fundraising, who enjoys collaborating with others, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is mission-driven with a passion for making a difference in the lives of youth and families across the Northeast.

 

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 

 

Hands-On Event & Project Support

  • Assist in preparing for major initiatives like Backpack Heroes and Holiday Heroes by organizing supplies, setting up spaces and coordinating logistics.
  • Attend events and provide on-site support, including setup, registration, volunteer coordination and breakdown (may include evenings and weekends)
  • Support other in-person projects and initiatives as assigned by the Development Manager

Volunteer Coordination

  • Assist with managing volunteers and supporting strategy and implementation for key initiatives as well as themed kit drives
  • Help recruit and train volunteers and provide on-site support during volunteer activities, ensuring clear roles and responsibilities
  • Track volunteer participation and maintain accurate records in Salesforce

Administrative and Donor Relations Support 

  • Assist with basic administrative tasks like preparing meeting materials, note taking and managing follow-up tasks for team member
  • Support the development team by managing and maintaining Salesforce data, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in donor records and reporting.
  • Contribute to data-driven fundraising strategies by gaining exposure to both annual giving and major gifts work, and assist with a variety of ongoing team needs
  • Provide general administrative support and perform additional tasks as needed to support team priorities

Qualifications

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or relevant experience
  • Enjoys hands-on work and supporting events and volunteers
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented and able to manage tight deadlines and shifting priorities
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; customer service experience a plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; Salesforce knowledge preferred
  • Proactive, problem-solver who shows initiative and shares ideas
  • Physically able to help with event setup (lifting boxes, moving supplies, etc.

Position Details

  • Part-time temp position (approximately 24 hours per week) looking to start around August through mid-December.
  • Primarily in-person with some hybrid administrative tasks
  • Requires availability for occasional evening and weekend events
