Our Information Technology (IT) department is seeking a passionate individual to join our high-performing team as a Product Intern. Working on the Youth Villages’ IT team means collaborating with purpose-driven people on high-impact projects and products, making a direct impact on the youth and families who need us the most.

Responsibilities

Position Summary

The IT Intern, reporting to the Liferay Product Manager as part of the Product & Innovation team within the IT department, will work closely with the Youth Villages’ Business Intelligence, Clinical Services, Strategic Partnerships, and other departments to support the technical development and implementation of the organization’s proprietary clinical platform, GuideTree. The IT Intern will collaborate with the Liferay product and development team to support the platform. This position will assist with user support, clinical content management, and system testing. They will also work on special projects as requested by the Manager, Director, CIO, and other members of the leadership team, as needed.

This is a part-time, remote role. A consistent commitment of 10 hours per week is required.

 

The person in this role will work closely with the Product Manager, senior leadership, and departments to:

  • Support users through support tickets and system configuration
  • Load clinical content in partnership with our Clinical Services team
  • Perform testing of new functionality
  • Identify new ways to support users, both internal and external
  • Assist the product and engineering team on special projects and assignments

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The candidate must also be a self-motivated and hard-working individual who is willing to be flexible in a fast-paced environment. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Availability to work 10-12 hours per week
  • Excellent time management skills and a positive attitude
  • Creative and analytical thinker with strong problem-solving skills
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite including Excel, Word, Outlook, SharePoint, Teams, etc.

Education and Experience

  • Enrolled in an accredited degree program in Computer Science, Business, Engineering, IT Management, or related field
  • Experience with or passion for non-profit(s) strongly preferred
  • Customer service experience a plus
  • Project management experience a plus
