    Responsibilities

    Position Overview
    Manages all activities of the Placement and Utlization Review for Oregon Residential and In Home Services.

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

     

    Referral & Placement Activities:
    Processes referral calls and packets in a specified time frame.
    Assess referrals for appropriateness.
    Maintains an active referral and waiting list.
    Performs clerical, typing and administrative duties required in support of placing the child in the appropriate program.
    Serves as primary liaison to assigned funding source/referral agent.
    On-call intake responsibilities.
    Completes daily monthly reports as required
    Works with Assistant Director of Placement Services on special studies or projects.
    Arranges admissions and meets parents/guardians at admission when directed.

     

    Utilization Review Activities:
    Initiates all admission, continued stay, discharge, and other reviews according to established guidelines.
    Completes pre-certification with external review agency and communicates that result in daily intake meetings.
    Conducts concurrent reviews with external review agency and communicates results in daily intake meetings and to appropriate program staff.  If appropriate, appeals any denials for continued stay.
    Maintains thorough and complete records of all external review agency communications. 
    Ensures confidentially of all communications with external review agency.
    Assists in facilitating transfers to other agencies by providing information necessary for pre-certification.
    Communicates with external review agencies by telephone, mail of facsimile as required by agency.
    Summarizes managed care trends and reports information.
    Assists in preparation for on site reviews by Managed Care Co.
    Attends all daily intake meetings.
    Monitor/track funding problems.

    Qualifications

    Requirements
    A Master's Degree in a social service discipline is preferred
    A Bachelor's Degree in a social service discipline is required
    Experience providing services in Residential or In Home Services is a plus
    Experience working with placement services is preferred
    Previous supervisory experience is preferred
    Clinical licensure is preferred
    Highly organized excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    Proven experience in building and maintaining satisfactory customer relationships.
    Must be able to work in fast paced environment.
    Must be able to effectively manage multiple priorities and competing demands.
    Excellent communication skills
    Ability to train and lead staff
    Ability to maintain a flexible schedule
    Experience in Oregon children's system of care preferred
